I have a Map Viewport to canvas 1.
I'd like to:

1. update canvas 0 with the contents of map viewport
2. do some drawing operations into canvas 0
3. copy canvas 0 to the screen (i.e. like draw frame)

This doesn't seem to work, I think because when I do "draw frame" is when it gets the Map Viewport contents and puts it into canvas 0... thereby overwriting any drawing I have done.

Is there a way to draw into canvas 0 this way?

I did a search but could not find anything.

Thanks.

forget it

I decided to go in hardware mode (which I have no problems with) and use one sprite for the "nova effect" and scale it to get the "growing" look. I didn't think it would work out, but it is actually perfect, even on a 400 MHz iMac my speed is fine!

Now I'm really excited...
