Is it possible to draw text over sprites on the same canvas? It's just doing it the other way would mean that my code would be put in a rather reprohensible position.

Hmm... I'm thinking probably not, because to get the text to show up, you have to do a "draw frame", and at that point the sprite will redraw, most likely drawing on top of your text.

You cannot draw on top of frames but you can draw on top of images... use paste sprite. The only thing is that you will have to erase the sprite just as you erase the old text the next frame.

Or you could do it the hard way and draw the text white in a new black canvas and do "copy image", using that as a mask and another canvas full of the text color as the image itself. That way you can draw the text as a sprite and it can appear over all your sprites without having to turn off and paste each one.
