When I used QuickBasic, I was able to deliver output to a printer using code that involved LPT1. Can I do this with TNT Basic?

I'm pretty sure TNT cannot print, althought it could be a good idea.

And, certainly not to LPT1.

Printing

I'm afraid I broke printing somehow in TNT Basic 1.12, I don't know how, I haven't had chance to look at it yet. If you're desparate for printing, please use the version of Hieroglyph from TNT Basic 1.11 instead.

Mark,

I believe the "printing" you mention is different from the "printing" I'm referring to.

Early in June I emailed you a question about not being able to print code from say a project's open code window in order to get hard copy. (Now I just copy and paste it in MSWord which can print it out.)

That printing is different from creating an application that generates output on a printer. It's this latter that I more recently wrote about. When I worked with QuickBasic about 10 years ago, I used code something like OPEN "LPT1:" FOR OUTPUT AS #n. The LPT1 code was to use for output to the printer.

Perhaps both kinds of printing were "broken."

Ahh I see. No you can't write programs in TNT Basic that print to the printer. We tend to focus on making games and so don't tend to have features that aren't directly related to that I'm afraid.

You can always output to the text console window and copy and paste into word to print I guess...

Sorry about that,

Mark
