It's just a screwy thought, but it'd be so cool if there were a way for you guys to somehow make it so we could use Xcode (The new Dev Tools in Panther) to create our games.

Would be a nice idea, but I'm just dreaming here.

Uh.. because it's not BASIC.

Hello?

That's why I use TNT Basic. For Basic. If I knew a thing about C++, Cocoa, Fortran, Assembler, etc, I'd use them. But I don't. Isn't this why we're all here?

I still think it would be cool if we could use Xcod to create the TNT Basic projects. Or at least give us a better editor that automatically formats the code like AppleScript which will automatically put in tab stops and colorize the code. Something like that in TNT would be great.

ANYWAY I HAVE A SERIOUS REQUEST:

************I WANT AUTO INDENT*****************
************I WANT AUTO INDENT*****************
************I WANT AUTO INDENT*****************
************I WANT AUTO INDENT*****************
************I WANT AUTO INDENT*****************
************I WANT AUTO INDENT*****************
************I WANT AUTO INDENT*****************
************I WANT AUTO INDENT*****************
************I WANT AUTO INDENT*****************
************I WANT AUTO INDENT*****************
************I WANT AUTO INDENT*****************
************I WANT AUTO INDENT*****************

I just don't have the patience to do it myself. I really don't understand why we should not have it. Please, my code's a mess! At least keep it optional! PLEEEEEEEEEESE!

Ah, like applescript right? That would be nice, actually...but there's a lot of other stuff that has higher priority...

exaclty. Unless it takes a few minutes to make, I suggest the creators of TNT work on something else.

Actually, I was planning to put auto indenting in the next release, as it's pretty quick to add and people keep getting bugs in their code as they miss the fact that they're missing 'end ifs' and such due to the lack of indenting.

I'm a bit busy at the moment, but I'll try and get around to it soon.

auto-indenting toggleage

Hi! I just thought I'd say that I'd like it best if auto-indenting could be enabled or disabled at will, so that backwards folks like me who prefer the current indenting behavior could be kept happy without limiting the features.

Hmm, having this be an option is probably obvious. I guess I'm just being paranoid! :)

Actually, I really like the way FutureBasic draws lines between the if-then and closing end if. It makes it much easier to follow what you're doing.

That may be a good idea, however you should not need this is you tab and put comments.

e.g:

if execution
...
end if ' ( end if execution )

Even with auto indent, its a useful feature. Especially if you have a LOT of nested loops or if-thens.
