How can I program a pause or a stop at a certain point in an application and then get a a read-out of a variable's value at that point?

here's somthing in pseudocode:

if not condition
print a
print "prompt user to do "condition" to move on"
end if

i think that should do what you want, from how i understand it. my logic may be off, i havn't done somthing like that in a while.

Found the answer

I discovered how myself:

All I did was to enter the following code sequence in "Procedure SpawnBouncingLetter" in Bang On before the loop begins:

Text Mode
Print inY
End

This worked fine. The application stopped. A text window opened and the value of "inY" was printed. All ended there with the window still open.

I use this method of looking into to strange code and making sure I understand what's happening and to my own code to see if everything is working out the way I want it to.

Oh, then you can use print var. You don't need to switch to text mode.

I didn't know that.

Yes. That's true. For me, though, the other way is cleaner and neater.
